Jeddah Metro seeks EOI for key contracts

Metro Jeddah Company (MJC) has invited initial expressions of interest (EOI) for the civil works contract of the metro network in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

It has also invited expression of interest and pre-qualification to design, build, procure, supply, operate and maintain a light rail transit (LRT)and corniche tramway civil works and rolling stock.

MJC seeks to engage with contractors or consortia with a proven track record, said a notification.

MJC is a private-public transport company owned by Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company (JDURC). It was established to manage the implementation of Public Transport Project in Jeddah.

The metro network will consist of:
* Blue line: from south of Jeddah up to King Abdul Aziz International Airport - 33 km long, passing through 19 stations.
* Orange line: Connecting North Obhur Bridge and Madinah Road  - 42 km long, passing through 30 stations.
* Green line: from east to west of Jeddah - 16.5 km and passing through 12 stations.
* Red line: connecting King Abdullah Stadium passing through King Road - 58 km long with 24 stations.

The Light Rail Transit network will consist of:
* First Line: going through Sari Street 17 km and 19 stations.
* Second line: going through Altahlia Street - 11 km and 9 stations.
* Third line: go through Falastin Street  - 9 km long and 11 stations. (It will be extended to 37 km in phase 2).

Corniche Tram:16 km long on Jeddah Northern Corniche with 15 stations.
Commuter Rail: A total length of 159 km, connecting end of Metro and tram lines with highways through the Ring Road. This includes 24 main stations.
Bus Network: A fleet buses running a total distance of 661 km.
