UAE-based Al Shafar General Contracting Company (ASGC) said its existing projects with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and Abu Dhabi Gas Development Company (Al Hosn Gas) are on track for completion by 2016.

These projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE, awarded in 2014, include a Dh156-million ($42 million) deal with Adnoc to build a 206-room guest house and supporting facilities in Al Ruwais and a Dh164-million  ($45 million) contract with Al Hosn Gas to construct a compound and residential accommodation complex in Qusahwira, said a company statement.

These projects reflect ASGC’s ability to diversify its construction skillset within the residential space and apply it to high-growth industry sectors such as oil and gas, it added.

Founded in 1989 in Dubai, ASGC provides turn-key general contracting solutions across a range of market sectors, including residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, leisure, infrastructure, and oil and gas.

In addition to undertaking large-scale construction projects, ASGC also offers a number of related construction products and services, including mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) services and structural steel, ready-mix concrete and precast concrete products, as well as interior fit-outs through a number of subsidiaries.

The landmark projects by ASGC are the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and  the Golden Mile (Palm Jumeirah), City Walk (Jumeirah), Jumeirah Beach Residence Sector 6 (Dubai Marina), Business Central Towers (Sheikh Zayed Road), Vision Tower and Bay Square (Business Bay), Dubai International Airport Support Facilities (Dubai Airport and the Dubai Police General Headquarters (Al Twar), all in Dubai; and Marina Bloom (Abu Dhabi Marina) and Oceanscape (Reem Island), in Abu Dhabi.-TradeArabia News Service
