Qatar charity to build two centres for Syrian refugees

DOHA, May 21, 2015

Qatar-based Sheikh Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) will launch an $11-million project to build two villages in northern Syria for displaced Syrians, a report said.

Al Noor and Al Iman villages, built with make-shift shelters, will be ready by Ramadan, Aid Al Qahtani, director-general, RAF, was quoted as saying in The Peninsula report.

The ventures, which will feature a total of 1,500 shelters, will be equipped with mosques, schools, shops, children’s stadiums and health and education facilities.

The project aims to shelter 11,000 displaced Syrians, including 450 families, the report said.
