Bahrain's Housing Ministry has started work on the East Hidd housing project.
A multi-million agreement has been signed to construct the first phase of the project, which includes 483 units, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
A consortium including Kuwaiti Khalid Ali Al Kharafi and Brothers Company and Bahraini Nass Group undertook the project, scheduled to be completed within 18 months.
The BD18 million ($47.5 million) project is financed by the Kuwaiti government under the GCC Development Programme as part of a project to construct 4,000 housing units in addition to infrastructure services, Housing Minister Bassem Al Hamer said.
A tender will be announced soon for the second phase of the project, which features 399 housing units, he added. - TradeArabia News Service
