Ashrafs to build $10.6m tower

Ashrafs, a unit of Bahrain group Y K Almoayyed & Sons, has announced plans to build a BD4 million ($10.6 million) tower in Hoora beside its existing shopping centre.
The move is part of Y K Almoayyed's investment in the future of the kingdom. The new Ashrafs tower is expected to be completed in June 2013.
'Y K Almoayyed and Sons has always been a part of Bahrain's growth and economic development,' said a company spokesman.
'The Ashrafs tower, a major investment the group will make in 2012, underlines its continued efforts in enhancing economic growth and commitment to social responsibility by promoting different industries and services.
'The group has always been a part of the economic development process by creating jobs and spurring business activities in the kingdom, ' the spokesman added.
The new building will be an extension to the Ashrafs shopping centre on the ground and mezzanine floors.
The building will house their offices and showroom in an area of approximately 8,100 sq m.
The project, estimated at an overall cost of BD4m, is expected to be completed in 18 months.
The six-storey emerging tower will have an integrated design with new generation high performing office blocks and a full-fledged multi-purpose hall at the top.
The new design encompasses provisions for an extended parking space to accommodate 126 cars at any given time. The project was awarded to Almoayyed Contracting.
The formal contract was signed by Ashrafs executive director Amal Almoayyed and Almoayyed contracting executive director Hala Almoayyed.

Mazen Al Umran Consulting Engineers, pioneers in the field of construction, will be the official project consultants.
The new tower will be operational in September 2013 to celebrate 100 years of Ashrafs success.-TradeArabia News Service
