Bahrain completes $10.6m road work

The Bahrain Ministry of Works said it has completed road revamp and maintenance works worth BD4 million ($10.6 million) in Northern Governorate of the Kingdom.

This is part of the ministry’s ongoing plans to improve roads in all governorates in the Kingdom, and thus enhance infrastructure in the country, said a statement from the Works Ministry.

The work included constructing asphalt roads in Block 544 in Dirza, and Block 526 in Barbar, paving internal roads in Block 1048 in Dar Kulaib, repaving Avenue 3 in Jasra and Avenue 20 in Barbar, in addition to developing a number of intersections, one of which is Avenue 35 and RAoad 7119 Interchange in Saar.

The maintenance work also included the construction of parking lots for Bahrain Post in Hamad Town and Jidhafs housing units besides creating parking areas for a number of mosques, Matams and graveyards in Jidhafs, Janossan, and Hulat Abdul Saleh.

Besides this, the ministry has also installed pedestrian traffic signals at a number of locations, including Markh, Barbar (Maqabah; along Budaiya Highway), and two traffic signals along Sheikh Hamad Highway in Hamad Town.-TradeArabia News Service
