Oman has awarded Turkish engineering firm Ozkar Insaat a road construction contract worth 125.22 million rials ($325.25 million), a tender board official said on Tuesday.
"Ozkar Insaat of Turkey won the first phase of the 40-km bid to build Sur road," a tender board official told Reuters.
The tender for the second phase of the same road is under process, he added.
Oman plans to spend 8.13 billion rials ($21.12 billion) in 2011, an increase of about 696 million rials over its 2010 budget. This week, the Gulf state awarded projects worth 153 million rials for boosting infrastructure.
