Aedas withdraws from Heart of Doha project
Doha, September 19, 2010
Aedas, a leading global independently owned architecture practice, has announced that it will be withdrawing from the Heart of Doha project in Qatar.
The company said in statement that on September 15 it notified Dohaland, its client for the Heart of Doha project, that it had issued the notice of termination of the contract and would soon be withdrawing from the scheme.
David Roberts, chief executive officer of Aedas, said: “It is with considerable regret that we have felt obliged for commercial reasons to cease our involvement in this project.”
The Heart of Doha Project is an ambitious urban renewal scheme that covers approximately 35 hectares in Doha’s city centre.
The $5.5 billion project, which is being delivered by Dohaland, aspires to regenerate the historic core of the city and to act as a stimulus for future wider city renaissance.
Aedas said it will be making no further comment on this announcement. - TradeArabia News Service
