Jotun Paints, one of the world’s leading producers and suppliers of paints and coatings, will be supplying paint for the Cairo Festival City (CFC).
CFC is a 2.5 million square metre mixed-use development that is set to feature Egypt's first indoor-outdoor retail resort and entertainment complex.
The delivery of approximately 10 million litres of high quality paints, for the project is expected to drive the manufacturer’s efforts to capture a larger share of the Egyptian paint market.
Jotun is currently working on the first phase of the CFC project and has recently completed the first five prototype villas using an intelligent combination of highly specialised paints for the extensive project.
Fenomastic Primer, Stucco and Fenomastic Emulsion Matt headlines the internal acrylic paint system to be used for the interior of Festival Centre and Festival Village, business and retail hotels, residential buildings, clubhouse and commercial offices.
Fenomastic Primer is a high-performance water borne primer based on a special, high quality, alkali resistant acrylic binder, which is specially formulated to resist the surface alkalinity as well to achieve better penetration and adhesion to the substrate, Stucco will be utilised across the project to obtain a smooth uniform substrate. In line with the development’s theme, the smooth and durable finish that will not chip or fade, Fenomastic Emulsion Matt will be applied as the top coat.
“CFC transcends the archetypal shopping mall to encompass a total retail, hospitality, leisure, lifestyle and business environment within a rapidly growing tourism landscape, and we are truly proud to be a part of this monumental development,” said mega projects manager, Jotun Paints, Sherif Kassem.
For the exterior surfaces, Jotun’s team has recommended the Jotashield Alkali Resistant Primer, the highly alkali resistant acrylic water base primer with excellent penetrating properties. For a tough and durable premium quality texture that can withstand heavy weather conditions, the team advised the decorative external acrylic texture paint, profile decor and heavy tex.
