Boursa Kuwait hosts Market Maker workshop

Boursa Kuwait recently hosted its first Market Maker Workshop in collaboration with global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman.
Held at Boursa Kuwait’s premises, the half-day workshop saw Oliver Wyman presenting an overview of market making, its benefits and key considerations to Boursa Kuwait and investment companies in attendance in the hopes of encouraging further investment in Kuwait.
Kuwait is in the midst of great change and opportunity in support of the New Kuwait 2035 Vision. To assist in Kuwait’s economic growth, it is essential that Boursa Kuwait adopts market making initiatives to transform the nation into a regional hub for trade, investment, and commerce, a statement said.
The Market Maker Workshop provided an overview of different working models for setting up a market maker scheme to attract potential firms.
With market making, Boursa Kuwait have a crucial tool that serves in boosting liquidity of securities listed in the stock market, as well as improving productivity in the market.
The Market Maker Workshop was divided into five different sessions all with the aim of providing insights and an overview on what a market maker is.
The sessions included Introductions and latest on Capital Market trends, role of Market Makers and incentive structures, Risk Management tools for market makers, and Case study examples on Market Making from peer markets. This was followed by a Q+A session in which investment companies had the opportunity to interact with Oliver Wyman. – TradeArabia News Service
