New India Assurance posts profit of $2.52m

MANAMA, August 13, 2015

New India Assurance Company Bahrain (NIA) has reported a profit of $2.52 million for the first six months of this year versus $1.09 million for the same period last year. In a statement, the company said underwriting profits were 27 per cent of net premium of BD3 million ($7.8 million) as against 16 per cent on BD2.1 million in the corresponding period, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
