Credimax launches prepaid card in Bahrain

Manama, August 6, 2014

Credimax, a credit card issuer and acquirer, has tied up with MasterCard to launch the 'Cardy MasterCard Prepaid Card' in Bahrain.

The new reloadable card is accepted at more than 35 million merchants worldwide, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Cardy MasterCard Prepaid Card can be had without the need of a bank account or salary transfer.
The card can be reloaded through Quick Pay Service, via the CrediMax website or at any BBK branch.

"Cardy MasterCard Prepaid Card has the best protection measures in place, as it is a smart chip card that can be used with a PIN number," CrediMax chief executive Yousif Ali Mirza said.

"The card also entitles holders to a raffle ticket on every BD50 spend and triples the chances of winning when used outside the kingdom," he added.

MasterCard Middle East and North Africa division president Raghu Malhotra said prepaid cards allow consumers to benefit from electronic payment solutions without holding a formal relationship with a financial institution.

"They play a particularly important role in driving financial inclusion," he added. "

We are confident that consumers in Bahrain will appreciate the many features of this innovative solution." - TradeArabia News Sercice
