Bahrain keen to boost trade with US

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Khalid Almoayed hailed strong Bahrain-US relations in all fields, especially economic ones.
Speaking during a meeting at Beit Al Tijjar, in the presence of US Ambassador Thomas Krajeski and deputy political and economic section chief Rebecca Seweryn, Mr Almoayed affirmed Bahrain's keenness to activate and bolster relations with the US in trade, industrial and investment fields.
He lauded the volume of joint investments and trade exchange which had reached about $1.7 billion last year.
He highlighted the constant interest of Bahraini businessmen to develop trade relations with the US by creating new areas of investment, in light of the various opportunities offered by the two countries.
Mr Almoayed called for the need to encourage US businessmen and representatives of commercial and industrial sectors to visit Bahrain and start investments here, adding that BCCI is looking forward to opening up new horizons of bilateral trade through joint projects and increasing visits by trade delegations.
The US Ambassador lauded the outstanding US-Bahraini relations, strengthened by the Free Trade Agreement signed between them, expressing hope that areas of co-operation will be enhanced in future.-TradeArabia News Service
