Dubai, October 4, 2011

Barclays Wealth, a leading global wealth manager, has appointed Miray Katerji as managing director of Strategic Solutions Group, Mena.

Katerji will be responsible for the development of technical and specialist product knowledge for private bankers across the Mena region and will report to Solomon Soquar, head of Barclays Wealth Strategic Solutions Group, UHNW and Family Offices, EMEA and Rory Gilbert, head of Mena for International Private Banking.

“The Strategic Solutions Group is a core pillar of the Barclays Wealth proposition for our clients across the Mena region,” said Gilbert.

“The experience Miray brings to the Group underscores our commitment not only to delivering best-in-class advice and service to our private banking clients, but also our commitment to the Mena region as a whole. With over 14 years of experience in private banking, Miray brings a wealth of industry and product knowledge to Barclays clients.”

Soquar said: “Our cohesive global team of senior advisors in key locations such as London, Geneva and Dubai provides seamless interface between the corporate/institutional and private assets of UHNW clients.”

“Our UHNW proposition is increasingly becoming one of Barclays Wealth’s stand-out capabilities and Miray’s impressive track record will certainly add value to fulfilling our clients’ financial requirements across the Mena region,” he added.

Prior to joining Barclays, Katerji was at Citigroup Private Bank before moving to HSBC Global Banking & Markets as managing director where she worked in both Wealth management and Investment Banking.
