Financial security to be stepped up

Manama, April 14, 2009

Renewed efforts to combat financial crime and protect public money were vowed yesterday by the Premier and Crown Prince.

Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Economic Development Board chairman Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa pledged to enhance economic growth through a package of legal regulations capable of shielding shareholders, fighting corruption and boosting the kingdom's competitiveness in attracting investors and assigning a greater role to the private sector.

At a meeting held yesterday (April 13), they discussed the role of the sectors capable of supporting Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, with focus on the media and underlined the need to constantly develop it to attain Vision 2030 goals.

In this regard, the crucial contribution of the King Fahad Causeway in maintaining trade and relations was hailed. – TradeArabia News Service
