Gulf Air signs deal with Edamah to boost global property portfolio

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) have signed an investment and transaction advisory framework under which Edamah will advise Gulf Air on the valuation and strategic options for its real estate holdings outside the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Under the framework, Edamah will lead an independent, market-based assessment of Gulf Air’s overseas properties, working with licensed specialist firms in each market.

The findings will support Gulf Air in making informed decisions regarding the management of its property portfolio, in line with the airline’s strategy to focus its resources on its core aviation operations and long-term growth.

The framework was signed on the sidelines of Gateway Gulf 2026 by Martin Gauss, the Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air, and Khaled A.Rahman AlMajed, the Chief Executive Officer of Edamah.

On the collaboration, Gauss said: "This framework represents an important step in Gulf Air’s continued efforts to strengthen its focus on its core aviation business and optimise its asset portfolio. Through our collaboration with Edamah, we will benefit from independent, specialised expertise to assess our international property assets and support informed strategic decisions regarding their future."

"The collaboration also reflects the important role of national companies in bringing together their expertise to support the Kingdom’s broader priorities," he stated.

AlMajed pointed out that the company’s investment advisory expertise will enable Gulf Air to realise the full value of its international real estate portfolio.

The assessment will follow a rigorous and objective approach, with Edamah collaborating with specialist local partners to achieve shared aspirations of both the organisations.

The framework will solidify Edamah’s position as a strategic advisory partner and support sustainable economic growth locally as well as regionally, stated AlMajed.

The collaboration draws on Edamah’s investment and transaction advisory expertise and reflects the broader drive for Bahraini national companies to collaborate and leverage their respective capabilities in support of the Kingdom’s economic priorities, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
