Saudi Arabia's industrial production index fell by 23.5% in August compared to the same month last year, dragged down by declines in mining and quarrying and manufacturing activities, according to data released by the kingdom's General Authority for Statistics.

As per the General Authority for Statistics data, the index recorded a monthly decline of 14%, also impacted by the drop in mining, quarrying, and manufacturing activities.

Additionally, the index for oil activities fell by 33.6% in August compared to the same month of the previous year, while the index for non-oil activities rose by 1.2%.

These results indicate a 21.5% decline in the oil activities index and a 1.4% rise in the non-oil activities index when compared to July 2026.
