BAS Training Centre secures Kuwait Aviation Authority approval

Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has announced that its BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Centre (BAETC) has received Part-147 approval from Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), expanding its international accreditations and training opportunities across the region.

The approval authorises BAETC to provide basic aircraft maintenance training for B1.1 turbine-powered aircraft and B2 avionics, alongside approved type training for selected Airbus aircraft, including the A320 and A330, to Kuwaiti citizens and residents.

The accreditation marks a step in the Centre’s regional expansion, strengthening its presence in Kuwait and creating opportunities to work directly with airlines and civil aviation organisations.

It also enables BAETC to deliver specialised aircraft maintenance programmes in line with applicable regulatory requirements and recognised industry standards.

Building on its existing accreditation from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the latest approval reinforces BAETC’s position as a regional provider of aircraft engineering and maintenance training.

Kuwaiti students and residents can access the approved programmes at the Centre’s facilities in Bahrain.

The training pathways aim to expand career opportunities for graduates in Kuwait, Bahrain and international markets.

Upon meeting the relevant requirements, graduates can pursue positions with airlines and aircraft maintenance and engineering organisations, helping address the aviation industry’s demand for qualified technical professionals.

The accreditation also supports the development of national and regional talent while strengthening technical training cooperation between Bahrain and Kuwait.

Through its expanding training programmes and international accreditations, BAETC aims to contribute to workforce development and support the long-term growth of the regional aviation sector. -TradeArabia News Service
