Riyadh will host the second edition of ARTDOM Riyadh - ARTDOM’s curated international platform for premium interiors, contemporary design, art, architecture, real estate development and hospitality on October 20 and 21.
As part of its expanded 2026 programme, ARTDOM Riyadh will bring together international design brands, original authors and creative projects exploring new approaches to contemporary design and cultural exchange.
Among the exhibitors joining this year’s edition is Seasons Arabia, a multidisciplinary initiative exploring the dialogue between traditional Russian craftsmanship and contemporary design.
The presentation will bring together designers, artists and manufacturers who reinterpret historic techniques, materials and cultural codes through a contemporary lens - demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship can evolve through new ideas, forms and creative practices.
Seasons Arabia at ARTDOM Riyadh 2026
The Seasons Arabia installation at ARTDOM Riyadh will feature six creative practices across sculpture, embroidery, textiles, porcelain and fashion:
● Dmitry Chekuchinov — wooden horse sculptures inspired by traditional Russian wooden architecture and carving.
● Natalia Shvalova — pearl ornaments created using the traditional sazhenie po beli embroidery technique.
● Maria Meltsaeva — embroidery using plastic threads, inspired by traditional Pavlovo Posad shawl patterns.
● Furland — pieces combining Russian fur with silk satin handwoven on traditional looms.
● Ustina Yakovleva — sculptural textile works inspired by the culture of the Russian North, transforming traditional embroidery techniques, beads and threads into contemporary organic forms.
Together, the works explore a central idea behind Seasons Arabia: preserving cultural heritage does not mean keeping it unchanged. Traditions remain relevant when they continue to evolve through contemporary materials, technologies and creative perspectives.
From Russian Seasons to Seasons Arabia
Seasons Arabia originates from Russian Seasons, a cultural initiative founded in Moscow in 2015 and inspired by Sergei Diaghilev’s legendary Ballets Russes.
For more than a decade, the initiative has focused on cultural heritage and traditional craftsmanship and their reinterpretation through contemporary art and design.
In 2025, the initiative expanded to the Middle East with the launch of Seasons Arabia in Dubai, creating a platform for dialogue between artists, designers, creative entrepreneurs and the region’s creative community.
“At Seasons Arabia, we bring together designers, artists and manufacturers who reinterpret historic techniques, materials and cultural codes through a contemporary lens — demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship can evolve through new ideas, forms and creative practices”. — Daria Matsievskaia, Founder of Seasons Arabia
Its participation in ARTDOM Riyadh 2026 marks the project’s next step in the Middle East, bringing this dialogue to Saudi Arabia and introducing Riyadh audiences to contemporary interpretations of traditional craftsmanship.
The presentation reflects ARTDOM Riyadh’s broader focus on cultural exchange and the intersection of heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary design.
