SAL Logistics Services, through its SAL Logistics business and its subsidiary SAL Zones, has signed two agreements with CIMC’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Headquarters to explore new areas of collaboration in logistics solutions and infrastructure, logistics zone development, and attracting Chinese businesses and investments to the kingdom.
CIMC is one of the world’s leading companies in industrial and logistics solutions and equipment, with advanced expertise and capabilities in infrastructure development, cargo handling systems, transportation, and related technologies.
The MoU with SAL Logistics focuses on exploring opportunities for collaboration in cargo handling systems, automation, robotics, autonomous vehicles, and handling and transportation equipment.
SAL Logistics Services is a leading national company specialising in integrated logistics solutions and supply chain services in the Kingdom. The company was set up in December 2019 following its separation from Saudia Cargo, continuing a legacy of over seven decades of experience in supporting the transport and logistics sector.
The Saudi group said as per the deal, the two parties will also explore the potential establishment of a logistics hub serving CIMC Group and its subsidiaries, supporting assembly, manufacturing, and distribution operations in the Kingdom, while addressing growing local demand and supporting CIMC’s expansion plans across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
The agreement with SAL Zones focuses on exploring opportunities to develop facilities and warehouses within the SAL Logistics Zone in Riyadh, attract Chinese companies and customers to benefit from the zone’s infrastructure and services, and identify investment opportunities and joint projects that support business growth and trade between Saudi Arabia and China.
The two MoUs reflect SAL Logistics Services’ commitment to expanding its international partnerships and leveraging global expertise and capabilities to develop an integrated logistics ecosystem, attract investment and business to the Kingdom, strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub, and contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
