The Dubai Global Leaders Series at Middle East Energy brought together senior policymakers, industry leaders and experts for an exclusive roundtable focused on policy, investment, innovation and Dubai’s role as a global hub for international business.

Hosted by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and inD, organisers of Middle East Energy, the session featured five global experts and leaders from organisations including the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the US Department of Energy, the Centre for Economic Security and Mitsubishi Power.

Discussions centred on the investment and policy conditions needed to accelerate renewable energy deployment.

“The challenge today is not about the cost of the technologies, but it's about how can we make an environment that allows capital to work in favor of the deployment of renewable energies,” said Patricia Espinoza, Founding Partner & CEO, onepoint5; former Executive Secretary, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Meanwhile, the Powering AI stream at Middle East Energy explored the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the global energy sector.

Sessions examined how rapid AI adoption is driving unprecedented data centre expansion and increasing demand for backup power, grid modernisation and energy-efficient technologies.

Speaking during the programme, Mozah Alnuaimi, Chief AI Officer, UAE Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, highlighted the need to align advances in AI with the development of smarter and more sustainable energy systems.

"The real question is how do we build an energy system intelligent enough to power the AI economy and an AI economy efficient enough to strengthen our energy system. If we get this right, the Middle East will not simply consume the next generation of technology.
