UAE travellers are increasingly opting for last-minute summer getaways, with nearly 70% of travel searches on Wego, the MENA region’s online travel marketplace, made within one month of departure.

Popular destinations offering value, easy access and diverse experiences are seeing strong demand.

Georgia recorded a 7.8% year-on-year rise in July travel searches, with average fares starting at AED1,475 ($401.63), while Türkiye saw a 34.5% increase, with fares from AED1,338.

Uzbekistan emerged as the fastest-growing destination, with searches surging 78.4% and average fares from AED1,309.

Thailand, Vietnam and Bali also gained popularity among UAE travellers, recording search increases of 12.7%, 23.3% and 24.2%, respectively.

Wego said the trends highlight continued demand for flexible, spontaneous summer travel experiences.
