Saudi Arabia is hosting the Global Games Show in Riyadh which runs until June 30, bringing together leading esports executives, game developers, investors, policymakers and industry experts as the kingdom seeks to strengthen its position as a global hub for gaming and digital entertainment.
Organised by VAP Group and powered by Times of Games, the event features keynote speeches, panel discussions and exhibitions focused on emerging trends in gaming and esports, including Web3 game development, content creation and the future of digital entertainment.
The exhibition is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees, alongside 100 exhibitors and sponsors showcasing the latest gaming technologies and experiences. More than 200 regional and international media representatives are also expected to attend, said the organisers.
The event brings together stakeholders from across the gaming value chain, including game developers, publishers, professional esports organizations, players, investors and government representatives, they added.
The speaker lineup includes representatives from the gaming, esports, government and creative sectors, offering insights into emerging technologies, industry trends and the future of gaming development in the Middle East and beyond.
Elie Honain, Chief Executive Officer, NES, will be addressing the evolution of esports infrastructure and competitive gaming ecosystems, while Majed Aleid, CIRO & Director, Ministry of Investment (MISA), will present views on national gaming investment strategies and ecosystem development.
Johnson Yeh, founder and CEO of Ambrus Studio, will discuss the future of global tournaments: from grassroots to international leagues.
When they speak formally in keynote speeches, fireside chats, and panel discussions, these industry trailblazers will explore many facets of esports, gaming, content creation, and immersive gaming technologies, said the organisers.
Malak AlQahtani, CEO & Founder of Valar Club, will highlight innovation in gaming communities, entrepreneurship, and next-generation player experiences during the event.
Xzit Thamer, Gaming Content Creator & PlayStation Playmaker, TikTok | Sony Interactive Entertainment, will share insights on creator-led gaming communities and platform-driven engagement.
They will also emphasise Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning gaming industry, which is evolving alongside its Vision 2030 Initiative. The event will serve as a pivotal opportunity for the gaming industry’s future in the region through its star-studded collection of speakers and forward-focused agenda, stated the organisers.
The Global Games Show is expected to be one of the region's largest gaming industry gatherings, highlighting Saudi Arabia's growing role in the global esports and interactive entertainment landscape, they added.-
