Vatel Bahrain organises culinary training programme

Vatel Bahrain organised “Mena Food & Beverages” culinary training programme, focusing on culinary arts and food presentation centered on Mena region cuisines, in partnership with Chef Fajer Al Mansoori and Exhibition World Bahrain.

The programme reflects the College’s continued emphasis on applied learning, offering students structured, high quality training within professional environments that bridge academic instruction and the practical requirements of the hospitality sector.

The programme forms part of the academic curriculum, through which students are introduced to some of the most renowned traditional dishes from across the Middle East and North Africa, including Moroccan, Saudi, Kuwaiti, Egyptian, and Lebanese cuisines.

It also introduced students to the beverages associated with these culinary traditions and the principles of professional food and beverage presentation in a manner that reflects the cultural identity of each cuisine.

Through the programme, students developed a comprehensive understanding of regional cuisines and applied advanced culinary techniques drawn from Middle Eastern and North African gastronomy.

The training further strengthened their skills in food preparation and presentation, in line with established professional standards across the regional hospitality sector.

The hands-on training conducted within the facilities of Exhibition World Bahrain represented a significant milestone in the students’ academic and professional journeys.

The venue is distinguished by its state-of-the-art kitchen, the largest of its kind in Bahrain, spanning more than 3,600 square meters and equipped with advanced operational capabilities that enable it to deliver culinary services for more than 10,000 guests per day.

Furthermore, Exhibition World Bahrain is supported by a specialised team of professional chefs who curate comprehensive culinary experiences for visitors, showcasing the richness and diversity of Bahraini cuisine alongside leading Mediterranean, Asian, and European dishes.

Their role also includes designing bespoke menus that reflect cultural diversity and cater to the varied preferences of participants across the wide range of events hosted at the venue.

Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Director of Vatel Bahrain, commented: “We are pleased to collaborate with Exhibition World Bahrain on this professional programme, which forms part of the distinguished academic curriculum we are committed to offering to our students through the most engaging and interactive learning approaches. This initiative reflects our dedication to providing students with advanced training opportunities that align with the evolving demands of the modern hospitality industry, enabling students to gain hands-on experience within a leading professional environment and to master traditional culinary techniques.”

Fatema Frutan, Director of Studies at Vatel Bahrain, emphasised that such programmes equip students with the skills and techniques that enhance their competencies and strengthen their readiness for the job market. She highlighted their importance in preparing a new generation of hospitality leaders with a strong foundation in regional culinary arts, thereby supporting efforts to advance the tourism, hospitality, and hotel sectors across the region.

Chef Fajer Al Mansoori said: “It was both an honor and a privilege to deliver this specialised programme to the students of Vatel Bahrain. The programme focused on highlighting the richness and diversity of Mena region cuisines, enriching the students’ practical knowledge, and introducing them to the authentic techniques that define each culinary tradition, alongside the art of presentation, which represents a core element of the hospitality experience.”

Huda Al Shamlan, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships at EWB, stated: “We are pleased to collaborate with Vatel Bahrain by hosting this hands-on training programme at Exhibition World Bahrain. As a leading venue for MICE and business events, we are committed to strengthening our sector through partnerships that support education and skills development, by providing students with access to our advanced facilities and expert teams.
