Wood has played a key role in the successful financial close of Ocean Winds’ BC-Wind offshore wind project in Poland, acting as lender’s technical advisor for the development.
Wood began
providing independent technical advice to the lending parties in
January 2025. The team reviewed project organisation, construction and delivery
plans, operational strategies and financial model inputs to ensure the BC-Wind
project was technically feasible, bankable and risks were well managed.
Dan Carter,
President of Consulting at
Wood said: “Our team worked collaboratively with Ocean Winds to
identify and mitigate potential issues ahead of financial close, ensuring a
smooth path to this major milestone. Once operational, the wind farm will have
a significant impact on Poland’s net zero ambitions.”
The wind farm,
situated 23 km offshore in the Baltic Sea, is expected to deliver first power
in 2028.
Once fully operational it will provide carbon
free electricity to almost half a million Polish households per year.-TradeArabia News Service
