The Chinese delegation on a site visit at Dragon City

Bahrain’s Dragon City fully leased, occupancy at 75pc

MANAMA, April 20, 2015

Diyar Al Muharraq's Dragon City wholesale and retail development expects to reach 90 per cent occupancy in the next few months, it was announced yesterday (April 19).

The project is fully leased and occupancy rate has reached 75 per cent. The announcement follows the visit by a Chinese delegation to Dragon City, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Senior leasing Agents from 'China Middle East Investment and Trade Promotion Centre' (Chinamex), which is the joint founder, along with Diyar Al Muharraq, of the concept of Dragon City and its principal operator, accompanied the delegation, made up of more than 100 tenants of Dragon City, on the site visit to update them on the latest developments of the project.

Phase 1 of Dragon City encompasses Dragon Mall and a themed "Asian Dining street".

The mall design is infused with Chinese architectural and cultural aspects, in a layout which incorporates 782 individual retail store spaces and additionally, a 4,500sqm area designated for warehouses.

The project also includes the Asian Dining Street, spanning a land area of 6,000sqm and a car park large enough to accommodate 1,500 cars.

Construction work on the project is due to be completed by June, with the official opening of the mall targeted for September.

Apart from Dragon Mall and the Asian Dining Street, Dragon Apartments are also being built under an agreement between Bin Faqeeh and Diyar Al Muharraq. - TradeArabia News Service
