Indirect talks between the United States and Iran concluded in Doha on Wednesday with only limited progress, as both sides agreed to suspend negotiations until after the funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Israeli forces expanded their bombardment of Iran overnight, striking fuel depots near Tehran as fighting escalated on day nine of the Middle East conflict, while Iranian officials moved closer to naming a new supreme leader despite Israeli threat to kill any replacement for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said a report.
At least 65 people were killed and over 2,300 arrested during two weeks of anti-government protests that have rocked Iran, said media reports citing a human rights group. The demonstrations have spread to at least 100 cities across Iran’s 31 provinces, in a wave of nationwide unrest over crippling economic conditions.
