Mountain resort in Oman names executive chef

DUBAI, 4 hours, 11 minutes ago

Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa has appointed an Executive Chef, who will bring over 20 years of culinary expertise and a passion for innovative, locally-inspired cuisine to the mountain resort in Oman.

Rohit Pushpavanam will oversee all culinary operations of the resort, including Vue Rooftop & Lounge, the highest rooftop lounge in the Middle East offering breathtaking views, Zaatar restaurant with its modern interpretations of regional cuisine, and Café Wadi Habib, reminiscent of a casual Omani souq.

Rohit's career includes positions at Cheval Blanc Randheli, One & Only Reethi Rah, and Alila Hotels by Hyatt. His work has taken him across the Maldives, the UAE, and India, where he has consistently delivered quality dining experiences.

“Joining Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar gives me the opportunity to work with Oman's unique ingredients,” said Chef Rohit.

“I look forward to creating menus that showcase local flavours, whether for a dinner at Vue Rooftop & Lounge or a cooking class. Our aim is to offer experiences that highlight this region's culinary traditions.”

Chef Rohit has spent six months researching Oman's produce, markets, and local cuisine, developing an understanding of the area's flavours.

The resort offers several dining options, including breakfasts with mountain views, Omani-inspired menus, cooking classes, outdoor barbecues, and private dinners.
