Hakkasan Dubai serves up Chinese flavours to mark festival

Cantonese restaurant Hakkasan Dubai is inviting guests to savour a specially crafted menu from September 10-17 that promises a culinary journey of the finest in Chinese cuisine, and culminating in a mooncake dessert that can also be enjoyed à la carte.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is a deeply significant event in Chinese culture, celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month when the moon is at its fullest.

Curated by Executive Chef Andy Toh, the the exclusive eight course set menu is being presented in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a cornerstone of Chinese cultural heritage.

This menu begins with an exquisite dim sum duo featuring roasted duck and wild mushroom and seafood xiao long bao with Sichuan chilli, followed by a lotus root and mizuna salad.

The main course selections include osmanthus glazed wild corvina, grilled silver hill duck breast and a wok-sear ribeye beef.

These are served alongside sautéed pak choi and truffle fried rice with handpicked crab meat, Jerusalem artichoke and preserved Chinese mustard.

To conclude the meal, guests will be treated to the signature mooncake, a decadent creation with Sichuan and raspberry, kumquat and ginger, as well as a pandan and mango dessert featuring pandan pannacotta, fresh mango, rice and pandan tuilles.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for families to gather and share mooncakes, symbolising unity and togetherness.

The celebration is enhanced with lantern displays, lively parades, and traditional stories, making it a meaningful and joyous occasion for Chinese communities worldwide. – TradeArabia News Service
