Ajman to showcase tourism potential at ITB Berlin

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) said it is taking part in ITB Berlin 2024, one of the world's premier travel trade fairs, taking place from March 5 to 7, 2024, in Berlin, Germany, to showcase the multifaceted tourism and cultural facets of the emirate.

While aiming to elevate awareness about Ajman’s unique appeal as a premier tourist destination, ADTD said it will focus on fostering cultural exchange, cultivating promising partnerships, and reinforcing tourism connections between the emirate and the global community.

Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTD, said: "We are pleased to announce Ajman's participation in ITB Berlin 2024. The remarkable growth we achieved in Ajman over the past year reflects our unwavering commitment to developing the tourism sector.

Ajman offers a tapestry of cultural experiences, including traditional markets, culinary journeys ranging from popular to international cuisine, and an array of museums.

The Ajman Museum stands out as a landmark, narrating the emirate's story and the development path of its population over 5,000 years BC, providing visitors with a comprehensive understanding of the region's rich heritage.

The recently inaugurated heritage trail represents a significant step in enhancing Ajman's rich heritage, fostering connections with history and culture among residents and visitors alike.

The Beit Rashid Al Khader Museum, which opened in 2023, showcases poetry as an artistic expression and a conduit for transmitting heritage and stories.

Ajman's events cater to adventure enthusiasts, offering opportunities for long walks in the scenic natural areas of the Al Zorah region. The Masfout area provides a unique experience with mountain biking paths and the discovery of picturesque landscapes.

As of 2023, Ajman boasts 50 hotels and resorts with a total of 4,292 rooms. The emirate experienced a remarkable 11% growth in revenues and a 6% increase in occupancy in 2023 compared to the previous year, according to a report by Smith Travel Research (STR).
