Noor Riyadh lights up two of Saudi capital’s iconic towers

RIYADH, December 7, 2023

One of the world’s largest light art festivals, Noor Riyadh, has kicked off with a spectacular laser light show, titled Dialogue by Christopher Bauder. The performance features an awe-inspiring exchange of laser beams lasting around 7 minutes between Riyadh’s iconic Al Faisaliah Tower and Kingdom Tower.

During the show, the laser beams establish a dialogue between the two landmarks, akin to Morse code or semaphore flags.

Each luminous colour takes on a different meaning, conveying moods, feelings, emotions and personality traits. Reflecting the spirit of Noor Riyadh, Dialogue is conceived as an ode to the power of communication: a celebration of diversity and creativity between individuals and communities across the world.

Although the best vantage points are in downtown Olaya or on King Fahad Road, visitors can also watch the show from anywhere in the city up to 10km away, or online with a synchronised soundtrack at noorriyadh.sa.

Born in 1973 in Stuttgart, Germany, Christopher Bauder is one of more than 100 artists participating at this year’s Noor Riyadh. His practice focuses on large-scale art installations and lighting designs, which are brought to life using products developed by his design and art studio WHITEvoid and its in-house lighting technology manufacturer, Kinetic Lights.

The spectacular show is performed every half hour from 6pm to 1am on weekdays and 6pm to 2am on weekends, until December 16. – TradeArabia News Service
