Burj Al Arab crowned 'Best Hotel in the World'

DUBAI, November 23, 2017

Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah, one of the most iconic and luxurious hotels in the world, was crowned the 'Best Hotel in the World' at the prestigious Ultratravel Awards (The Ultras) hosted by The Telegraph magazine.

The hotel also was recognised as the Best Hotel in the Middle East by the awards.

An architectural marvel of 320 m high (fifth tallest hotel in the world), designed by British Architect Tom Wright, the sail-shaped seven-star hotel was designed to reflect the iconic nature of Dubai under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This luxury landmark is a testament of the emirate’s past and a window to its exciting bright future.

CEO of Jumeirah Group José Silva said: “It is with the greatest joy that we receive such a fantastic accolade for Burj Al Arab. I am so proud that the Burj Al Arab, 20 years after its construction, still remains undisputedly the most iconic hotel in the world with more than 202 suites (min 120 sq m) offering breathless views and more than 120 butlers delivering service beyond expectations. This property continues to be a unique business model for the luxury hospitality industry.”

Anthony Costa, regional vice president, Jumeirah Group and managing director of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, said: “It is truly an honour for Burj Al Arab to receive such great double recognition at The Ultras. A hotel steeped in iconic heritage and legacy, but with a highly ambitious spirit – much like the spirit of everything is possible in Dubai – allows it to maintain its leadership position. This property is all about passion, creating lifelong memories and to mesmerise guests at every moment.”  - TradeArabia News Service
