Jordan airport welcomes over 900,000 passengers in July

Jordan's Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) welcomed over 900,000 passengers in July, marking a significant increase of 5.7 per cent compared to July 2017 and setting an unprecedented record for previous July results.

According to statistics released by Airport International Group -  the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of QAIA - a total of 918,207 passengers travelled through QAIA in July compared to 868,614 in the same month last year.

During the same period, aircraft movement (ACM) figures also rose by 6.3 per cent, with handled cargo witnessing a decrease of 11.8 per cent.

Throughout the first seven months of 2018, QAIA received a total of 4,802,725 passengers, registering a 7.2 per cent rise in year-to-date (YTD) passenger numbers compared to the same period last year. As for ACM and cargo YTD figures, QAIA marked a 2.0 per cent growth and a 0.6 per cent drop to come in at 44,063 movements and 60,642 tons respectively.
