After multiple reschedules, the flood-hit Kochi airport has announced that it would reopen at 2 pm today (August 29), said a report.

The airport, which was shut down on August 15 after floodwaters entered its runway and disrupted operations, said that full-scale operations will resume on August 29. Airlines will follow the current schedule for operations and services that were shifted to the naval base will be suspended, said a report in The Indian Express.

The airport was first scheduled to reopen on August 26 but was later postponed to August 29 due to the extensive damage and lack of manpower to do renovation work.

The first flight is scheduled to take off at 2pm, it said.
