AirAsia X to fly seven times a week to Honolulu

SEPANG, May 29, 2018

AirAsia X is set to operate seven flights a week to Honolulu, Hawaii from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia via Osaka, Japan, beginning August 16.

The announcement comes on the back of robust demand from Southeast Asia, with the airline’s latest promo starting from only RM700 ($175.7) one-way inclusive of taxes.

Guests can grab these limited sale fares to Honolulu from May 28 to June 3, for the travel period August 18 to August 13, 2019. AirAsia X’s award-winning Premium Flatbed is also on sale from only RM2,999 ($752.7) one-way all-in throughout this promo period - a fraction of the business class fare cost for a full service carrier on the same route.

AirAsia X group head of commercial, Barry Klipp, said: “Our maiden entry to Honolulu last year with amazing low fares has stimulated demand and generated tremendous interest from the Southeast Asia region. In less than a year, the market has grown exponentially and we are pleased to offer daily departing flights from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu to meet growing demand and provide a welcome boost for tourism in both regions.”

“We remain the only low-cost carrier in the world to offer 180-degree lie-flat bed which provides the best low-cost premium experience in the sky, for a similar cost of an economy seat on a full service carrier on a similar one-stop route. Our sale ends soon so we urge value seekers to get in quick to avoid disappointment,” added Barry.

AirAsia X currently operates four flights a week from Kuala Lumpur to Honolulu, Hawaii with one-stop in Osaka, Japan. Guests transiting in Osaka do not require a Japanese visa during the two-hour stopover, and can return to their seats on the flight after clearing security with any carry-on luggage or belongings.

Guests can also make use of AirAsia's Fly-Thru service to connect seamlessly to Honolulu from other cities within AirAsia and AirAsia X’s extensive flight network with just one additional stop.

Hawaii, nicknamed the Paradise of the Pacific, is formed by eight islands located right at the heart of the Pacific Ocean. Famed for its stunning natural beauty and unique indigenous culture, this tropical paradise is the only US state located in the Oceania.
