Flyadeal adds new A320 aircraft to fleet

JEDDAH, April 3, 2018

Flyadeal, Saudi Arabia's low-cost airline, has taken delivery of its sixth aircraft - a new Airbus A320 which arrived from the Airbus assembly facility in Hamburg, Germany, said a report.

The airline has rapidly expanded its route network since the start of its operations on September 23, 2017– the kingdom’s national day.

Currently, flyadeal offers as many as eight flights daily between Jeddah and Riyadh. It also flies twice daily from Riyadh and Jeddah to Abha and Jazan. From its base in Jeddah, the airline flies direct to Qassim and Damman, a report in Saudi Gazette said.

Con Korfiatis, CEO of flyadeal, said: “As promised, we continue to expand our fleet to meet the growing demand for low cost travel in Saudi Arabia and deepen our domestic presence so customers can fly for less. We can’t wait to announce our route plans for this aircraft in the next few weeks.”

Flyadeal's current route network comprises six domestic destinations in Saudi Arabia. The airline expects to receive the two remaining aircraft in the initial leasing of eight aircraft in the next few months, the report said.
