Gulf Air celebrates Bahraini Women Day

Bahrain national carrier Gulf Air recently celebrated Bahraini Women’s Day with a company-wide event held at its Muharraq headquarters on November 29.
This year, Bahraini Women’s Day focused on Bahraini women in the field of engineering, recognising their contribution to this key sector. As such, Gulf Air’s event honoured the female Bahraini employees working in its engineering division. The Bahraini women that were recognised in the event included: Hameeda Mohamed Sharif, controller engineering publications and modification; Maryam Isa Ali, Technical Records officer; Mardheya A.Majeed Mosawi, Repair Specialist; Eman Hameed Mandeel, aircraft maintenance supervisor; Batool Adnan AlQassab, aircraft maintenance technician; Buthaina Abdullatif AlGhunaim, aircraft maintenance technician; Sameera Abdulla Jamal, controller engineering publications and modification; Ameera Mohamed Aljasim, administration assistant; Maryam Faisal Ali, assistant planner; and Amal Husain AlHoori, project engineer.
Gulf Air has been a pioneer in encouraging and offering targeted training and career development opportunities to its workforce – thereby ensuring it facilitates and supports a range of career opportunities within the aviation industry. With 36 per cent female personnel, the airline’s female workforce represents all Gulf Air divisions, ranks and levels of expertise.
Bahraini Women’s Day is celebrated annually on December 1 as part of an initiative by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) to honour the achievements and valuable insights and contribution made by Bahraini women towards the development and progress of the Kingdom of Bahrain. - TradeArabia News Service
