Aviareps to promote tourism to Latvia in GCC

DUBAI, November 15, 2017

Aviareps, a leading airline and tourism representation company, has been appointed by Latvia’s Spare Travel, a luxury, customer focused tour operator and destination management company (DMC), as its representative in the GCC states.

The appointment, which has immediate effect, is the result of Spare Travel’s international outreach programme to engage and provide customised, VIP travel solutions for Middle Eastern travellers seeking authentic, unique and bespoke Northern European travel experiences.

The appointment, which covers Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, is also timely as it follows the launch by airBaltic of direct non-stop flights from Abu Dhabi to Latvia’s capital Riga on October 30.
To celebrate the launch, Spare Travel is offering special promotional travel packages to discover Latvia based around the themes of castles, chocolate and culture. The packages include three nights stay in Riga’s old town, complimentary entry into Latvia’s famous Laima Chocolate Museum, with guided tour of the museum and a visit to the chocolate workshop, entry into the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia, and an overnight stay at Latvia’s Birinu Castle.

Ivonna Kezbere, director, Spare Travel, said: “Latvia, the Baltic States, Scandinavia and Finland have so much to offer travellers throughout the year, from soft adventure to extreme sports, wellness to nightlife, historical attractions to modern art museums, and family attractions to those focused on couples or even business groups. Spare Travel is committed to providing our Middle Eastern travel agency partners and guests with authentic experiences that are unique, offer value, and come with a certain wow factor. In this regard we look forward to showcasing the very best that Northern Europe has to offer, and by partnering with Aviareps in the Middle East, we believe we have the best partner to further promote the destinations and our services within the region.”

Glenn Johnston, general manager, Aviareps Middle East, said: “With Latvia’s excellent accessibility and superb value for money experiences, I’m confident the Baltic States as travel destinations will soon become a trending ‘dinner party’ topic throughout the gulf region. To this end we are extremely excited to partner with SPARE Travel to offer meaningful and thoughtful travel experiences and services that acknowledge, understand and are able to cater to the needs and demands of a very sophisticated and well-travelled Middle Eastern outbound travel market.”

Founded in Germany in 1994, Aviareps has an extensive office network with 63 self-owned offices across 47 countries. It has over 100 airlines and more than 150 tourism, hospitality, retail and trade promotion clients in its portfolio.  - TradeArabia News Service
