Oman allows tourists to stay longer

MUSCAT, October 25, 2017

Tourists holding a one-year multiple entry visa can extend their length of stay in the sultanate by one week, allowing tourists to stay for one month at a time as opposed to the earlier three-week maximum stay period, said a report.

"The holder is entitled to enter the sultanate more than once during the period of its validity and to stay there for a period not exceeding one month at a time," said a report in Times of Oman citing an announcement by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The ROP also said that the one month tourist visit visa “shall be granted by the competent authority to anybody who wishes to enter the sultanate for the purpose of tourism, shall be valid for one month and may be extended for a similar period.
