Minor Hotels appoints new maketing executive

Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Patsada Satthacharoen as the new area director of marketing communications, Qatar.
Satthacharoen is considered a specialist in pre-openings and rebranding projects. Prior to joining Minor Hotels group, she opened six hotels and rebranded 10 for various international hotel chains. Satthacharoen is now overseeing five hotels managed by Minor Hotels Group in Qatar including Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli which is now undergoing the rebranding process and three pre-opening projects which are Tivoli Al Najada Doha Hotel, Oaks Al Najada Doha and Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli scheduling to open in 2018.
Satthacharoen, who had her first experience in the Middle East at the age of 12, is a Thai National with a Bachelor’s degree Major in Business English from Assumption International University in Thailand and a Bachelor of Hotel Management from Griffith University in Australia.
Satthacharoen brings with her a decade of practical experience in the hotel industry where she worked with various international five-star hotel chains in Australia and Thailand.
Hospitality is deeply ingrained in Satthacharoen’s bones, having grown up close to her family’s small hotel business. “My grandmother owned a small hotel in Thailand when I was a little girl and my uncle and aunties own and run restaurants business so you could say that I grew up in a hospitality-orientated family”, she said.
Back home, Satthacharoen served as the head of marketing at Virgin Active Thailand, part of the Virgin Group owned by Sir Richard Branson, where she helped launch the VA brand to the Thai market for the first time and broke sales record among eight countries.
Satthacharoen has since been able to catapult her way into the hospitality arena with a series of posts that allowed her to utilise her unique experience in hotel management to launch new brands as well as drive renowned institutions’ sales, branding campaigns, and more.
This includes being a part of numerous big projects such as at the Dream Phuket hotel and spa and Dream Beach Club, which is today considered the biggest beach club in Thailand.
Satthacharoen has also served as the director of marketing communications with Compass Hospitality for its six properties in Bangkok, and as the cluster marketing communications manager at Courtyard Resorts by Marriott Thailand where she oversaw a total of four properties in Phuket and Hua Hin, as well as the marketing communications manager of Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi, which was voted as Number 1 in the world in 2011 by Travel & Leisure Magazine, US.
Other hospitality establishments Satthacharoen worked with include the pre-opening projects of Millennium Resort Patong Phuket, Sofitel Phokeethra Krabi Resort & Spa, Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel (the official airport hotel of Bangkok), and Conrad Jupiters Casino, Gold Coast, Australia. - TradeArabia News Service
