AJMAN, October 4, 2017
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman received positive feedback on its sustainability efforts during the recent Scandinavian road show organised by Ajman Tourism Development Department.
General manager Iftikhar Hamdani easily established connection with the tour operators and agents from Denmark, Norway and Finland after sharing the property’s green initiatives during the week-long road show.
He said: “We are in Scandinavia to promote Ajman as a tourist destination, and our three hotels. When I mentioned our sustainable initiatives, I got an overwhelmingly upbeat response, as these countries have always been in the forefront of global conservation. We have learned a lot from them and were truly inspired to further our efforts. We are proud to establish not just a business partnership with them, but a common goal on protecting the environment.”
Pia Holm of Discovery Travel Denmark affirmed: “It is enthusing to hear sustainability stories from different parts of the world. In Denmark, we have achieved almost zero waste due to collective efforts of the government and the cooperation of every household. We commend Ramada Ajman for all their eco initiatives.”
Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman is one of the pioneers in sustainable tourism in the UAE. Its effective waste management system diverts 90 per cent of waste from the landfill. The property has a dewaterer and macerator machine, and a compost machine, which aid in converting waste into fertilisers. It also boasts its own urban farm and reverse osmosis water plant, as part of its long list of sustainable practices. - TradeArabia News Service
