Oman to boost tourism investment through natural reserves

MUSCAT, August 10, 2017

Oman is looking to open up new avenues for investment in the tourism sector with plans to develop and manage natural reserves in the sultanate, said a report.

Oman's natural resources, which include natural reserves and springs, natural caves, mountains, deserts and several islands, can be made accessible to tourists and nature enthusiasts from around the world, said a report in Oman Daily Observer.

Tanfeedh, the national programme for enhancing economic diversification, suggested several initiatives for investment in the management and development of tourist sites in the country.

The Sultanate’s landscape and unique terrain gives it an edge to host several adventure and challenge activities, according to handbook released by Tanfeedh.

Promoting these advantages would impact the development and
growth of the tourism sector including the development of facilities and services within these natural attractions and rehabilitation of the sites, the report said.
