Abu Dhabi Airport sees 11.92m passengers in H1
ABU DHABI, August 8, 2017
The Abu Dhabi International Airport has maintained its strong growth curve, welcoming a total of 11.92 million travellers during the first half of 2017, up 0.7 per cent from 11.84 million in the corresponding period in 2016, a report said.
A total of 1.76 million passed through the airport during June, added the report from Wam, the Emirates official news agency.
Ahmed Al Shamsi, acting chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi International Airport, stated that London, Mumbai, Delhi and Manila were the top destinations for travellers through the airport in June, with the air traffic to London increasing 6 per cent, and Delhi-bound travellers up by 11 per cent against the same month last year.
He added that Abu Dhabi International Airport terminals welcomed 75.3 per cent of the total number of passengers in June, 81 per cent of whom were aboard Etihad Airways.
