Bahrain showcases local craftsmanship at Tunisian handicrafts events

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) is representing the kingdom as a guest of honour in the 34th ‘Innovation Salon for Handicrafts Industries’ that is being held in the Republic of Tunisia, from April 28 to May 7.
The opening ceremony was hosted by the president of the Republic of Tunisia, Beji Caid Essebsi, who was received by Shaikha Wafa bint Saif Al Khalifa, director of the Handicrafts Directorate at the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, and Khalil Ibrahim Butarada, Chargé d'Affaires of the Bahrain Embassy in the Republic of Tunisia.
Essebsi expressed his appreciation for the kingdom’s participation in this event which represents the strengthening of ties between the two nations. During his tour of the Bahraini pavilion, he also commended the distinctive crafts and products on display that reflect the originality of the Bahraini heritage.
The kingdom’s pavilion showcased a variety of traditional handicraft products such as the crafting of traditional wooden boxes, wooden ships, ceramics, weaving, and a live performance by a folklore band.
“We are delighted to participate and represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in this regional exhibition, which provides an important platform to share experiences and ensure the sustainability of traditional Bahraini industries through innovation and development,” said Shaikha Wafa.
The pavilion attracted a large number of visitors who voiced their admiration for the high level of local craftsmanship and the diversity and quality of the handicrafts being exhibited. - TradeArabia News Service
