BAS announces key initiatives to boost travel experience

Bahrain Airport Services, ground service provider at the Bahrain International Airport, has announced several key initiatives to improve travel experiences and support Bahraini employment.

BAS, which was founded in 1977, provides fully integrated airport services at Bahrain International Airport. BAS is an ISAGO accredited Ground Service Provider that owns and operates four distinct business units.

BAS said it was proud to be an integral part of the national and international success of the Bahrain International Airport was recently selected among the top ten airports in the world in terms of its focus towards on-time efficient performance.

This achievement reflects the airport’s commitment and BAS drive to enhance its service delivery by meeting the highest international quality, health, safety, security and maintenance standards.

To complement and keep pace with the latest innovative developments, BAS has announced the opening of a new maintenance workshop that offers top-notch and efficient maintenance service levels with a highly skilled team of elite engineers and professional mechanics equipped to support international and regional airlines.

Through this initiative BAS elevates its position in the competitive local and regional market and embraces its vision to establish a performance based benchmark organisation that offers competitive, value-added products and services, driven by a passion for excellence said the statement from the top Bahrain airport operator.

BAS has been committed towards investing in their human capital and cultivating an environment of teamwork, trust and fairness, it stated.

"Our successes lie in the consistent hard work put in by our passionate and loyal staff, on ground and behind the scenes," remarked Salman Al Mahmeed, the acting CEO.

The organisation successfully maintains a Bahranisation level of over 80 per cent on its human capital of 3,000 individuals and has been acknowledged and applauded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development each year.

BAS has earned its recognition as an employer of choice for Bahrainis with a strong focus on skill enhancement.

In 2016, BAS has offered scholarships for post-graduate degrees in business administration, project management and management of aviation disciplines. They have further offered approximately 500 training courses across various functional levels to all employees.

In the years leading up to 2016, the BAS academy has successfully graduated 250 aircraft engineers.

Al Mahmeed said the BAS training academy has graduated several engineers especially in the past years with several  students coming from all over the GCC region thanks to the quality of education and training being provided.
