RJ starts flights to US as Trump travel ban lifted

AMMAN, February 4, 2017

National carrier Royal Jordanian said it had received instructions from the US authorities on Saturday to allow travellers from Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Iran, who have the necessary visa or green card, to board its US flights.

Royal Jordanian said these instructions are effective starting from today (February 4). The US Customs and Border Protection had agreed to temporarily halt ban on travel of seven previously-barred nationals to enter the US, said the airline in a statement.

The new instructions call off the US President’s order to ban the aforementioned nationals to enter the US.

The airline will resume carrying the nationals of the mentioned countries to the US as long as they present valid US visa or Green Card, it stated.
