Shaikh Khalid takes part in the Capital Club’s ‘@ Majlis’

Shaikh Khalid Bin Humood Al Khalifa, the chief executive of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, took part in the latest edition “@the Majlis” event at Capital Club Bahrain.
 
The event held on a monthly basis, features a number of executives from both the government and private sector and allows the premiere business club’s members to discuss major social, economic and commercial issues with the kingdom’s decision makers.

During the event, Shaikh Khalid stressed that the authority’s strategy focuses on launching initiatives that attracts visitors to the kingdom based on a long-term approach that focuses on developing the infrastructure and hosting a wide variety of events.

He also spoke about the authority’s efforts to position the kingdom as a tourism hub in line with the its Economic Vision.
 
Shaikh Khalid also highlighted the authority’s collaborations with the private and public entities such as the latest tourism survey conducted by the E-Government to better understand Bahrain’s Tourism Sector and get a better insight into tourists’ needs and demands.
 
He alluded to BTEA’s new tourism identity (Bahrain. Ours. Yours)  developed in partnership with EDB and other main stakeholders. The strategy is based on four pillars namely improving the kingdom’s main gateways; increasing the events held in Bahrain throughout the year; and increasing the number of hotels and the plans to establish a hospitality and culinary college and attract visitors from around the globe while focusing on GCC tourists promoting Bahrain as a family destination.

Commenting on his participation in the event, Shaikh Khalid reiterated the authority’s focus on developing the Tourism Sector and increasing foreign investment in order to increase this vital sector’s contribution to Bahrain’s GDP and economy in line with the government’s vision and directives for the future. - TradeArabia News Service
