Oryx Rotana chefs honoured at Hospitality Qatar 2016

Oryx Rotana, a five-star luxury business hotel in Doha, bagged five medals at the recently concluded Salon Culinaire competition held during Hospitality Qatar 2016.
This initiative encourages and draws out the finest talents from the culinary scene of Qatar.
Oryx Rotana Doha’s master chef Patrik Hevlicek, who is passionate about creating mouth-watering cuisine participated in the competition – creating a signature dish, which won him a gold medal. Chef Mahesh Pudhari showcased his long years of experience by winning silver medal for Terrine/Pate while Smriti Singh walked home with a silver medal for Petit Fours. Dileep K Wilson was awarded bronze medal in the Bartender Mocktail Competition category while Raed Slime took bronze medal for his incredible Arabic Mezze.

At HQ 2016, Salon Culinaire, co-organised by Qatar Culinary Professionals (QCP) featured upcoming chefs who competed in 17 diverse categories ranging from live cooking and carving to aesthetically beautiful showpieces and static displays — all in front of a live audience as well as a judging panel made up of hospitality and culinary experts.
The Salon Culinaire competition included Live Cooking, Fruit & Ice Carving, Barista Competition, Bartenders Flaring Mocktails, Signature Dish, Five Course Set Menu, Bread-making, Novelty Cake, Chocolate Showpiece, Wedding Cake, Hors d’ Oeuvre, and Terrine/Pate, among other things.
An exhibition for the hotels, restaurants, and cafes (HORECA) and hospitality industry in Qatar, HQ 2016 was held from October 18 to 20 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) in West Bay. - TradeArabia News Service
