Emirates plane catches fire after crash landing in Dubai
DUBAI, August 3, 2016
An Emirates airline flight coming from India crash-landed at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, the Dubai government media office said on its official Twitter account, adding that there were no reported casualties yet.
As many as 282 passengers and 18 crew were on board the Emirates flight EK521 from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai which was involved in the incident, it said.
According to passenger reports on social media, the flight had landed without landing gear and caught fire.
Emirates airline confirmed on its Twitter account that 'an incident' happened at 12:45 pm local time.
All passengers have been evacuated safely and no injuries were reported so far, Dubai government media office confirmed. All departure flights from Dubai International Airport have been delayed until further notice, it said.
