Damac's Hollywood-style hotel project wins key certification

DUBAI, July 20, 2016

UAE-based Damac Properties said its Hollywood-inspired luxury apartments project - Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts - has won an industry leading design certification from EarthCheck.

Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts is a hotel and residential complex located in the heart of the stylish Burj area, Dubai.

This four-tower development comprising 1,200 luxury serviced residences in three towers, will offer sumptuous living with a Hollywood flavour.

A fourth tower will house the world’s first Paramount Hotel, featuring 823 guest rooms and suites. Each of the four towers stretches over 250 metres in height, joined by a multi-level plaza.

This certification from EarthCheck, a leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism, is one of the very few that have been awarded to hospitality projects across the Middle East region.

Commenting on the feat, Ziad El Chaar, the managing director, Damac Properties, said: "Achieving the EarthCheck Design Certification is a significant highlight in the project’s journey and reaffirms that Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts adheres to the highest possible science-based standards."

"The project continues to make progress with superstructure works 100 per cent completed and facade works 85 per cent completed for all towers, and we are on track for completion next year," he added.

“From the design phase, through to construction and thereafter, the entire property complies with sustainability principles and best practices, ensuring safety for residents and tourists and reduced impact on the environment and making the property a great place to stay, visit, live and work in,” noted El Chaar.

Stewart Moore, the chief executive of EarthCheck, said: "This places Damac as a worldwide leader, joining the unique group of asset developers that are certified to the internationally-recognised EarthCheck Building Planning and Design Standard."

"Certification against the EarthCheck Building Planning and Design Standard is set to bring Damac Towers by Paramount Hotels & Resorts a range of benefits including recognition, credibility and best practice performance," he noted.

"This first EarthCheck certification to be awarded to Damac Properties demonstrates its commitment to reduce environmental impact and sets a standard for others to emulate. EarthCheck looks forward to working with Damac Properties on forthcoming certifications in Dubai," he added.

Thomas van Vliet, CEO, Paramount Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are especially proud to have received this certification which is testament to the rigorous planning that goes into ensuring improved ecological performance related to climate conditions, energy efficiency and reduced consumption of natural resources, to name a few, that will also translate into reduced operational costs."

"Sustainability is high on the worldwide agenda of Paramount Hotels & Resorts and to be certified in this field is one that we take very seriously and strive to achieve," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
